My Childhood Companion

Portable stereo music center is my childhood companion. It made my childhood full of imagination and it acted as a source of entertainment for my family and neighbour. It is a vintage suitcase with radio with aerial, tape enhanced with recorder, turntable, and speakers plus built in mini microphone.

I love to carry it everywhere from my house car porch to the backyard and from downstairs to upstairs. The suitcase was indeed too heavy for a little kid like me. I can remember clearly that when I was 6 years old, I ever fell down from the staircase when I carried the heavy suitcase which caused me ended up with head and body injuries (bruises over everywhere on my body and swollen forehead).

However, I never fear on that and kept on playing with it. I started to modify the suitcase by stealing the wheels from the baby’s moving chair. I took four wheels and used double sided tape to affix them on the suitcase. I got a string and tied it on the suitcase handle. Therefore, I could pull it everywhere from then onwards. I would pull it to the front car porch, opened the case. Then I took out the microphone and started to sing. I would shout for my neighbour and family out from the house because I was going to present them with song and dancing just like my solo concert. Sometimes I would play the tape with children song and sometimes I would play the records on Elvis Presley’s and Michael Jackson’s song while imitating their actions and dancing. I would wear my mum’s high heels and use my dad’s belt to tie the microphone on my chest because I need to dance while singing.

Sometimes I would imitate people who sell medicine by the roadside as well. I would take empty perfume bottles, containers, bottles and even a rubber snake. Then I shouted that I was bitten by snake and I used the perfume bottle as medicine to cure the wound which made my family laughed until tears out. It was very fun playing with it. I even stole my uncle sunglasses and wore it while pulling the suitcase as if I was James Bond.

It is a cool suitcase but it is not functioning anymore. Maybe I will let my children to play with it next time to generate their imagination.

Thank You Samsung Imagi.Nation

Actually last few months we were actively joining Samsung Imagination contest. It was a blogging contest in which participants were allow to blog on one topic out of 3 given topics but can submit multiple posts for the particular topic. The given topics are:

Frankly, I was attracted by the prizes such as Samsung home theatre system, Samsung notebook, Samsung LCD TV, Samsung mobile phone and even Samsung mp3 player for all to 20 bloggers. Our new house will be fully done soon, so what we need most are the LCD TV and home theatre system. Samsung will be our first option for all these.

After our discussion, we decide to blog on topic 1. We have many ideas on that and we have quite a lot of experiences living without such gadgets. Few months back, my astro and TV were struck by lightning. It took a week for them to be restored. Life is totally different without them. That was why I wrote my first post my life without TV.

As for washing machine, my house's washing machine also spoiled few months ago which caused my life totally inconvenience. But two days later, my dad bought a Samsung washing machine which stay perfectly until now.

There are so many things that we can't live without in our daily routine. We have added our imagination in as well and made our post more perfect as usual with our unique drawings. We did all this so that we could win the home theatre system. The referral prize (32" LCD TV) is quite fascinating as well. Although we don't have many friends, we tried our best to dig out as much as we could. In the end, we had gotten few thousands friends. We knew that was not enough but we should have the spirit in participation so we still inserted all the emails to refer our friends. We put many efforts in it and finally our efforts were paid reasonably and Samsung Imagination lets our dream come true.

Here's our link to the samsung post

The story begins when we got a call from Samsung.

So we discussed for awhile then we decide to let Yolk go alone as he's the only person who is free at the moment.

His journey begins here. He'll be my personal postman..hehe.

He bought a Kuching-KL ticket on 21st August morning for the flight on 21st August night which cost him roughly a Samsung washing machine.
Kuching international airport

He reached LCCT on 12.30am on 22 August. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he had to overnight in LCCT until the next morning before he could go to Bijou. In fact, the event starts on 12.00 p.m.

After loitering for 9 hours at LCCT, he took a bus to KL Sentral.

Yolk found out that taking taxi from KL Sentral to Mont Kiara was the best way with just RM15.00. So he bought the taxi ticket and proceeded his lone ranger journey.
One of the apartment nearby

The picture says it all :)

Yolk reached around 11 a.m. (the 1st “kiasu” blogger to reach). The place was still empty with few staff around.
Still empty

After awhile, people started to come in and filled the whole restaurant. Only by then, the event officially started.
Filled with bloggers and their partners

The buffet lunch

We started with a simple Wii game named "guitar hero". The person with the highest score will get a prize. So yolk rushed and tried but he failed to get the highest score :(
Someone else won the game and walked away with a Samsung DVD player.(Congrats!)

While others were busy playing the game, yolk kept on rushing Samsung staff to announce the result as he worried about his flight in the evening.

After the game, the moment that everyone was waiting for.....The best blogger goes to.....
1. Top Blogger : Noor Azlin Shah Nawawe (walked away with Samsung notebook)

2. Top Blogger : The Egg Yolks (walked away with Samsung 32" LCD TV and Samsung Home Theatre)

3. Top Blogger : erm..another lady (forgot her name) walked away with a Samsung Notebook

4. Top referrer : Beh Phaik In (walked away with a Samsung netbook)

All of the top 20 bloggers were given a stylish “egg yolk“design Samsung Mp3.

That was the end of the event after the prize giving.

We hoped this is how our prize are like..hehe..(a bigger home theatre maybe?)

As the prize was oversized, yolk couldn't take the prizes back so he requested Samsung staff to courier it back to Kuching. We can't wait for the arrival of the prizes :)

After that, the helpful Samsung staff sent Yolk to KL Sentral ( Thanks!) and he took the flight that evening back to Kuching.

We'll post the pictures of the prizes at our The Egg Yolk's Joins 蛋黄忙参与 when we receive it!

Samsung products are always my family choice because of the stylish, sophisticated features and reasonable price which can be concluded in one word that is “Worth”.

Both of us never thought we could win both home theatre and LCD TV. It is just like my last two paragraphs for my last post for the Samsung Imagination entitled “My Life Without You (part 5 – Last Part)”.

Quoted: http://theeggyolks.blogspot.com/2009/07/my-life-without-you-part-5-last-part.html

“Ultimately,
Samsung gives me imagination,
Pushes away all my darkness,
Fulfills and satisfies my hunger for comfort and relaxation,
Samsung brightens up my day,
Paints my life in a colourful way,
Makes my day with full support.

Hey guys,
Stop sitting there building castle in the air,
Get your Samsung today for better living and enjoyment,
Let your dreams become reality. “

Thank you Samsung and all the staff who had assisted yolk( as he was the one who kept on rushing you guys to announce as he needed to catch the flight in the evening) in the prize giving ceremony.

I'm Addicted to Olay Game

Recently we are busy playing this game. This is somewhat called Olay Game. It is a cool flash game where there are six games to complete in order to get the total of the score. We can take photo inside the game but not the photo of ourselves but the photo of the lady who represent us.

theeggyolks in Paris!

I like all the games inside. I have been playing whenever I am free. I will save my time going to toilet unless I can’t stand anymore then I will rush over to release the refuses. However, I always remember to wash my hands before I continuing with the game. Do you guys need me to teach you on the appropriate methods in washing hands? Hehe. For my suggestion: refer to H1N1 advertisements.

*most of the picture below were edited pictures with egg and yolk's appearance inside!
For the first game, I have to move the lady to eat the alphabet by clicking on the direction. The lady has to be fed with capsule in order to keep her fair.

In the second game, I am able to learn a lot of new meals with recipes inside but this second game is not a cooking game. It is a word puzzle game where I have to find the food or ingredients that are hidden inside the puzzle while clicking the capsules when the waitress walks by. For those who like to cook, you can try this game to get the recipes but remember to find for the hidden ingredients while copying the recipes. You can print screen also. This game really makes me hungry until I can swallow a cow.

For the third game, the lady is walking in the park where I have to avoid her from the smoke emitted by cars, black clouds, and even tornados. I always have to make sure that she walk as fast as she because if she walks slowly, she will scorch by the sun and turn her to be darker which will affect the point. I again have to feed her with capsules. This game is quite easy. It teaches us to use Olay natural white cream when we are walking under hot sun to protect us from getting darker and darker like charcoal.

it turn out to be yolk picking up the capsules -_-"
The forth game will be going to the supermarket to buy fruits, drinks and Olay products in different shelves. I have to move the shelves from left to right and right to left in order to click the required items. There are capsules for me to click as well. Tell you something. My head will move here and there when I move the shelves.

As for the fifth game, it is a matching game where I have to switch the items so that it will be 3 or above same items. It is similar to the jewels game which I use to play all the time.

The last game is testing our fingers and eyes. The game illustrate the lady is having exercise. I have to guide the lady the step of exercise and I can learn the technique of exercising simultaneously.

Actually we can see a lot of capsules inside all the games. In fact, we have to feed the lady with the capsules labeling E, B3 and Pro- B5. For those who have just started to play this game, please don’t mistake that the lady is sick. She needs the capsules to keep her as fair as she could. Fairness is what female like most. All the capsules are Vitamin E, B3, and Pro – B5 which are contained inside the Olay natural white cream to keep our skin fair and healthy. Girls out there, have you put on the cream already? Try the cream out to see if you turn as fair as the lady inside the game.

All these games need a lot of alertness. Here are 5 friends that I want to challenge.

  1. nabil
  2. dragonsim
  3. chien
  4. crazyfool
  5. richard

here's my highest score : 12169!

You can also challenge me to win all these.

For those who are still haven’t tried this game, be hurried before too late or else you will regret.
