Our Preparations Part1

Sorry for blogging too much about contest. Since the nuffies had their break, we should take a break from joining contest too!

So what were we both busy at these few weeks??
very obvious right? hehe!!

Anyway, we're still in the stage of preparations. Usually preparations takes about half a year before the actual day of marriage, so you can try to do your calculations on our wedding date. An extra tips, it's shorter than half a year of preparation XD

About a month ago, we booked our wedding photography session with Wedding Touch Studios since they gave us quite a good deal. After sharing our thoughts with the manager and the makeup artist of the studio, we were told to wear contact lenses! FYI, we were both "4 eyes monkey" as illustrated in our cartoon! Without glasses, we were both like a blind couple -_-"

At this crucial moments, nuffnang came to the rescue! Haha! We got this "1 Day Acuvue Moist" ads running on our blog! Through the ads, we found that they were actually offering a 3 days trial of the contact lenses! Such a cheapskate couple.

We went the the Jee Kwong optic at Jalan Kulas to get our free contact lenses.

For someone who never use contact lenses, we took almost half an hour just to put it on and another half an hour to take it off! -_-" Anyway, for the sake of nice pictures, we'll just bear with it!

Yesterday we went to our "Wedding Touch Studios" to take our photos, so here's the candid I took while waiting for Egg!

a very cute figure in the shop

I never seen Egg did her makeup so I don't really know how long it takes to makeup! Well, I was sitting there for more than an hour waiting for Egg and the makeup artist!

During the makeup sessions

They took pictures of Egg before and after the makeup session. I guess this was their quality control procedure or maybe Egg looks too different after making-up? -_-"

Is this Egg??!! *rubbing eyes (yolk)

The photo sessions starts from 10am to 5pm with a 30 minutes lunch break! Very tiring leh!

Egg's shoe nice or not? hehe..

There's actually 7 type of dresses to try out during the photo shoots. All 7 sets come with different hair style and accessories.

One of my favourite ^_^

Trying out another dress

 The Kimonos!

The Empress! I'm the xiu tai zhi! lol!

Our photographer!

All in all, our experience with Wedding Touch Studios is quite good in terms of their service but the bad thing is that they sold us a NU Bra with the price of RM80!! In fact, it only cost RM30 online! SWT!

I guess that's how they do their business -_-" So girls, if you plan to go for your pre-wedding shoots, buy our own NU bra instead of buying from them...

Well, that's just the 1st part. We'll write about the outcome of the photos and the photo albums after we received it.

Why do I deserve to win a Samsung Galaxy tab?

You ask me why?

Simply because I’m a person who will use the Samsung Galaxy Tab to the fullest! Let me prove this to you.

I’m not sure about others, but I need to play few different roles in my life. Therefore, I have different needs and demands when I’m in different situations. This is when Samsung Galaxy Tab comes in handy.

1st role: A sophisticated young man

I don’t dare to say that I’m a fashion geek, but when it comes to technology and gadgets, I’ll try to get myself as updated as possible. I loved black clean finishing of all my gadgets, which include my Dell notebook, LG handset, even our (Egg and I) Perodua Alza.
A stylish Samsung Galaxy Tab with flush black bezel and glass screen is perfect for my collection! Like what people said, Black is not a colour; Black is style! Woots!

2nd role: A working adult

As a typical working adult, I can hardly escape from paper works, meetings and more meetings. This is when I’m going to unleash the Samsung Galaxy Tab’s full potentials.

Samsung Galaxy Tab enables me to read and edit all Office documents such as words, PPT and even excel! With it’s 7” full touch screen, it’ll never be too hard to read or even type.
Now that I mentioned “type” it also comes with the SWYPE input where I can type by swiping my finger in one continuous stroke across the keyboard. I can type super fast while correcting my typos in split seconds.
I can easily mark my meetings using the Samsung Galaxy Tab’s integrated calendar making sure that I don’t forget them.

3rd: A blogger
I blog about anything, anytime at anyplace! With Samsung Galaxy Tab in hand, taking pictures or videos and uploading it into the internet is like a breeze. The Galaxy Tab is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera and a huge view finder (the 7” screen of course)!
Bringing this baby around is nothing to be worried about since it’s only 0.83-pound and 0.47-inch thick.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab has a build-in Wi-Fi which makes internet surfing an ease with a touch. Updating my blog is never this easy.

4th: A traveller
I love travels but travelling can be quite boring when there’s nothing to do during the journey. If the journey takes around 5-6 hours, I’ll be bored to death! The eReading functions of Galaxy Tab will definitely lighten up my journey.

The long lasting battery life also deserve a praise!
When I reached any places of interest, I will not have to worry about my way back to my hotel if Galaxy Tab is with me. Samsung Galaxy Tab has a spacious display perfect for finding my way around with google maps navigation. I can always replace my tour guide with the Galaxy Tab.
Here’s something that I want to high light! Samsung Galaxy Tab comes with an innovative solution for a traveller like me especially when I’m in an unfamiliar city.
The all new the Augmented Reality service allows me to explore my surroundings in details, with point-of-interest icons that pop up to show me store and restaurant info and reviews

5th: A socialized man
I may not be as socialize as most of you out there but at least I love to stay connected with all my friends and family. Popular social network system? I have it all! Tweeter, facebook, friendster, koolred, you name it! Galaxy tab will be my social hub where I can instantly check all the updates in my social network!
Whenever I’m out stationed, I’ll be able to video call me Egg. (Just to prove that I’m not being with other girls -_-")

6th: A surfer
I surf the internet for almost 6 hours a day. Other than logging into my social account, I love to explore new website, blogs and of course YouTube. With Galaxy Tabs enriched browser that support flash player 10.1, surfing experience is brought up to another level!

Lastly, Christmas is near and nobody is willing to be my Santa. I hope Samsung Univez will  -_-“

*If you're kind enough, please drop me a comment! The number of comments will be counted to be the winner of the contest. For more information on the contest, click here

Murano Glass

Murano Glass and Murano Glass Jewelry are known and revered around the world for their elegance of design and superb craftsmanship.

The finest raw materials and craftsmanship result in glass of unequaled purity – a trademark of the highly sought after Murano Glass pieces and Murano Glass Jewelry. These beautiful pieces are still made today on a small island just north of Venice using the same methods that has been the Murano Glass trademark for centuries.

A Brief History:
*credits to Google image
Venetian Glass making originated in Venice in the ninth century. The Venetian Republic, fearing fire, ordered the glassblowers to a small island.
By the fourteenth century the 3000 inhabitants of the island became some of the most respected and revered citizens in all of Venice, granted special privileges and favors by the Republic.

Many glassmaking technologies and techniques were originated on Murano and are still in use today. The making of Murano Glass is a complicated and sophisticated process, as each piece is actually an original hand-made work of art.

Some pieces are functional and some are decorative – all are exquisite. Murano Glass pieces are considered the height of elegance, refinement and good taste, making them a true pleasure to own and to give (and receive!) as gifts.

These hand-made work of art varies from Murano animal figures to Murano glass jewelery

And the award for “Best Video” goes to...Me! Me! Me!

Remember the Airasia Megastore Video I made few months ago? You can find it here. Well, it actually won the grand prize for Mega Shopping Experience Video Contest by Koolred and Airasia Megastore! They even interviewed me (it was my first time actually >_<). So here's the interview!

Koolred (K): Hi Wee! Congrats once again for your winning video submission on Koolred. How does it feel being crowned the Grand Prize Winner?
Wee (W): (laughs) I was overjoyed! To be honest, I was not expecting to be the Grand Prize Winner.
K: So, what made you decide to participate in the video contest?
W: I thought this was a good opportunity to practice my animating skills as it is my passion, and if I could be rewarded at the same time why not? I've always wanted to be a proud owner of the Olympus-PEN camera.
K: Were you nervous prior to the results? Did you find any videos that you thought were really impressive?
W: (laughs) I had my computer turned on the whole day on 11th of October (the result day). I even called my friends to check Koolred's page and to text me if the announcement was made. If I'm not working, I would sit in front of the computer and keep refreshing the Koolred's homepage! In fact, all the videos were awesome! However, the few that caught my attention was the 3D animation by Ivan Lee, "AirAsia Megastore! Shop Now!" and Cyril Dason's "They Deliver". I'm so glad that I won as the competition was really tight.
K: It seems like you went through quite a lot to compile the end product. Do you think you can run through the production process with us? What was the most difficult and easiest part of the production?
W: Unfortunately, there's no easy part in animation production. Seriously, I worked on the animation till 3 in the morning (with my good mate, coffee of course). I'm not sure how other people do their animations but I work based on my mood... or when inspiration kicks in. When the ideas rush in, I would refuse to stop until my body had reached its limits.
With any original production, everything has to start from scratch where I would have my story boarding sketched in papers.

Then I'll slowly redraw everything using Macromedia Flash (a programme which is used to produce flash animations).

My friends have always asked what I use to draw my cartoons with. Well, the only tool I need is the "mouse"!

Once the drawings are animated, I proceed to the narration part. I would also need to create the background music as it was stated in the contest's Terms and Conditions that all music in the entry must be composed by the creator himself. So what I did was the simple, trusted finger snapping technique. Then, I proceed to insert captions into my animation. This process is tricky as you need to make sure that all the captions appear according to the narrations.

At last, the video is complete and ready to be uploaded on Koolred. It's a wrap, and I am finally allowed to sleep (laughs).
K: Wow that's a whole lot of work! But the end result was incredible, nonetheless. So Wee, tell us in no less than 25 words, what is "Koolred" to you?
W: Koolred, to me is a combination of a travel guide and many great social networking sites. It is the coolest community site that offers great travel information and guides, and is a terrific place to socialise with people around the globe.
K: Complete the following sentence: "WOW! AirAsia Megastore has…"
W: WOW! AirAsia Megastore has... all the things you need at the lowest price. Now everyone can buy!
K: Lastly, what do you plan to do with your brand spankin' new Olympus-PEN camera? Have you already started browsing the AirAsia Megastore site for what you intend to buy with your RM300 worth of e-Vouchers?
W: School holidays are just around the corner and I have plans to go travelling to Penang or Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, so my new camera from Olympus will help me capture the best pictures of all these places. Other than that, I can finally upload quality pictures in my blog!
As for the airasiamegastore.com e-Vouchers, my girlfriend and I plan to use them to get a blender and mixer as we enjoy cooking and baking. The e-Vouchers really do come in handy! Thank you, Koolred!

By the way, Koolred is now organising another COOL contest where you can actually win free trips to Bali or Bangkok. All you have to do is just to submit a picture of you or a love one taken at any Asian destination then add a caption on the location of the place and country. Contest ends at 30th Nov 2010
Click here for more details of the contest

There's still another half month to go before the contest ends! Why wait? Join the contest NOW!! I'll be submitting mine soon  >_<
